After 20 years making preserves for other people Neil decided to "go it alone" and produce high quality preserves using as many locally grown ingredients as possible.With the help of his wife Gill, Bracken Hill Fine Foods was born.Their son Peter joined them two years later and with the help of friends and a dedicated team have gone from strength to strength,producing some of Yorkshires finest Preserves. With Neils wealth of experience in product development and pasion for good food he is able to produce Marmalades, Jams, Curds, Chutneys, Jellies, Sauces and Mustards to compliment and enhance many types of food.New products and flavours are being developed all the time so there is always something new to try. GREAT TASTE AWARDS 20 awards in all have been won since they started out 2008 also saw them Highly commended in the Yorkshire Post Taste Awards. Neil and Peter make all their products using the finest ingredients localy sourced where possible. ALL products are suitable for vegetarians and GM free.Most are Gluten free and a range of no added Sugar products are available. Both Neil and Gill began life in agriculture and it is important to them both to use the best ingredients from local growers where possible. Indeed the name Bracken Hill derives from Neil's Grandfather's farm on the East coast of Yorkshire. They attend Farmers Markets and Shows throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and are always delighted to meet customers old and new, so please come along taste their products and tell them what you think. 2009 sees a new venture for Bracken Hill as they take over an established Orchard at Sutton upon Derwent as well as the existing stock they will be planting old varieties of fruits so watch out for new products made from their own grown fruit including fresh pressed Apple juice.
