After 20 years making preserves for other people Neil decided to "go it alone" and with the help of his wife Gill, Bracken Hill Fine Foods was born. With Neils wealth of experience in product development he is able to produce Marmalades, Jams, Curds, Chutneys, Jellies, Sauces and Mustards to compliment and enhance many types of food. They were delighted during in their first year to gain 9 awards at the Guild of Fine Food Retailers GREAT TASTE AWARDS 2004, and this year 2007 are pleased to have gained 2 more Gold Awards,one for Mojo Picon Sauce and another for Carrot Chutney with a Kick,making a total of 19 awards in all. Neil makes all his recipes the traditional way in small batches using the finest ingredients localy sourced where possible. ALL products are suitable for vegetarians and GM free. Both Neil and Gill began life in agriculture and it is important to them both to use the best ingredients from local growers where possible. Indeed the name Bracken Hill derives from Neil's Grandfather's farm on the East coast of Yorkshire. In 2006 their son Peter joined them and is now involved in all aspects of production and Sales. They attend Farmers Markets and Shows throughout Yorkshire and Lincolnshire and are always delighted to meet customers old and new, so please come along taste thier products and tell them what you think.
